Pizza & Ice Cream benefit for the Asheville City Schools Foundation on January 14, 2011

On January 14th 2011, GalloLea Pizza and The Hop are coming together to benefit the Asheville City Schools Foundation from 5pm - 7pm.

GalloLea provides healthy and gluten free pizza kits that you can purchase at several locations in the Asheville area. The Hop is a great local ice cream shop and has 2 locations; one on Merrimon Ave in North AVL and the other one on Haywood Rd in West AVL.

The Asheville City Schools Foundation (ACSF) is an independent non-profit organization dedicated to the educational success of all Asheville City Schools students. The Foundation works to engage and mobilize the community to support teachers, students, and their families.

Come join us, meet some great businesses and people, and help the ACSF. We look forward to seeing you on January 14th from 5-7pm at The Hop on Merrimon Ave in North Asheville.

My Asheville Choices, at the moment... Kilwin's is Awesome!

Just thinking about where I would like to go and what I would like to do at this exact moment and for the day. If I had to eat somewhere, I think I could go for Mayfel's in Downtown Asheville for breakfast. I kinda miss Rio Burrito downtown and wonder if the one in Skyland is still open. Went for brunch yesterday at 1896 Bistro and had the Seafood Crepes. Great chocolate shopping and awesome experience at Kilwin's. They have their little elves making chocolate, serving ice cream, running the register, and entertaining the kids. I believe Marcy, the owner, was the one who got my balloon hungry daughter a nice balloon this is up against the ceiling right now above where I am sitting. (Good balloon too, looks like it was just blown up a minute ago, lol) Kilwin's email is Asheville@Kilwins.com. The main company website is www.Kilwins.com

If you do not know where they are, they are located on Battery Park Avenue in Downtown Asheville, right up from World Coffee and right down from the Wall Street parking garage and the Grove Arcade.

Asheville - Kamm's Frozen Custard

Just walking through the Grove Arcade in Asheville North Carolina and saw that Kamm's was packed out today. Premium ice cream is not hard to come by in downtown Asheville, and we do enjoy Kamm's. Yeah, i have cheated a little and went for a quickie with the "Dairy Queen", but this is definitely one of the better choices in the area.

Sweet Heaven was all excited about the new Chamber on Montford opening (more exposure and clientel), and then closed. Luckily Kamm's is only a few blocks away in the Grove Arcade. From the outside, they are right across from the Asheville Citizen Times. You can visit their site: www.kammscustard.com
