Asheville's Flat Iron Building, NYC junior

When Downtown Asheville North Carolina was designed, it was patterned after NYC... and we even have our own Flat Iron Building between none other than "Battery Park Avenue" and "Wall Street" Asheville. This is a landmark point in Asheville as it is packed out with so many little local shops and businesses. More like "Little New York City".

World Trade Center - Twin Towers 9/11 update

Here is an updated photo (about 4 weeks ago) of the World Trade Center site. Some of you know Janet from Abandre.com. She actually retired from the FDNY (Fire Department NYC Engine 237 to be exact) and now lives down Reems Creek. Many of her close friends and co-workers lost their lives in this tragedy. It is a place of suffering and pain.

Some people visit there regularly to get a sort of closure or to finally come to terms with what happened to their family, friends and loved ones on that terrible day. Here is a photo Janet brought back to Asheville with her.

Asheville Grafitti - not too nice

Okay "Moms", here is your 3 minutes of fame. Years ago in NYC, there was big tension and division between those who claimed to be "grafitti artists" and those who were considered "toys" by the graph world. Of course the artists yelled that the "toys" were "making them look bad". The "toys" screamed "we want a voice too!" This piece of work on the recently closed Dominoe's Pizza on Merrimom Ave makes all grafitti look disgusting. Not only is it a crime to deface property, but things like this make it all the worse. Who is this "MOMS"?
