Western Carolina Business Journal defunct

The monthly business publication, the Western Carolina Business Journal, has quietly closed the door on the "one stop for news about business in WNC."

The journal maintained offices on Haywood Street.

The privately held corporation registered to Publisher Rick Corbitt allowed its domain name wcbj.biz to expire on Jan. 12, 2010, ending a six year bid to cover regional business news.

Online, the publication logged 10 IP addresses and name servers over the past six years, and generated 26 ownership records. Today, a party and entertainment booking agency has begun to use the domain name.

Attempts to reach Corbitt for comment were unsuccessful, as the email and phone addresses were no longer in service.
