In my 22 years, not once have I had the opportunity to visit a drive-through movie theater. I've always wanted too. I think that eventually, i'd like to build one around here. Take out a couple of loans, scare up some investors, and some friends to help build it. I'll show what I want to. Damn the censors :) Have a dozen or so grills going in the summer-time. Maybe a couple of in-ground pools. Good idea ?

Sounds like a private clubhouse, always wanted to do that... and I will.
Where I grew up in NY there was a Drive-in Movie theater. It was always a lot of fun. I loved it when I a kid!
I have been to one drive in theater, and it was only a couple months ago in Henderson, NC. (That's Henderson, not Hendersonville.) It was AWESOME!! Each car got the loan of a wireless radio during the movie (It was a double feature, actually, Indiana Jones followed by Iron Man) which was great because you could hear the sound without interuptions from other viewers. Or alternately, you could talk and laugh without annoying the rest of the crowd. They had a little concession stand with popcorn, candy, hotdogs, and pizza. I loved it. As far as your plan to open one here, you know there used to be one in Swannanoa, but I think it might have been one of those skeezy "adult-only" joints. You can still see the sign for it, behind that biker bar on HWY 70. Can't remember the name of the bar. Anyway, the theater's no longer in operation, so maybe you could finagle the management into letting you open your drive-in there.
Man Starr, you just reminded me... lol... of the Drive-In on Tunnel Road a long time ago (maybe 15 years ago), then it became a giant yard sale and fair every weekend (Dreamland Flea Market), and then Lowe's took over and built that monster. Memories...
